About Me and the Practice

Hello! I’m Kathleen Killen, a Registered Psychotherapist and Associate Certified Coach. At Kathleen Killen Psychotherapy, I offer a sanctuary for couples to courageously explore their relationships and journey toward meaningful and fulfilling connections. My practice is rooted in empathy, compassion, and a collaborative approach tailored to each couple’s unique needs.

I understand that relationships are intricate and multi-faceted. Whether clients are navigating communication breakdowns, trust issues, or deeper emotional challenges, I provide a safe and transformative space where they feel truly seen and heard. I am seeking a dedicated psychotherapist who is:

Qualifications

  • Education: RP, or RP Qualifying.

  • Regulatory Standing: Must be in good standing with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario).

  • Specialized Couples Training: Training in one or more of the following is required:

    • Relational Life Therapy (RLT) – Level 1 or above.

    • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – Externship and/or Core Skills.

    • Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT) – Level 1 or above.

    • The Developmental Model of Couples Therapy.

  • Experience: Previous work with couples and relationships is essential.

  • Availability:

    • One to two weekday evenings are required.

    • Bonus: Availability for a few hours on the weekend is a plus but not essential.

  • Location: This is a virtual role, so as long as you are located in Ontario or registered to perform psychotherapy in Ontario, you are welcome to apply.

  • Reliable Internet Connection: A stable and secure internet connection is essential for delivering virtual therapy sessions.

Your Role

  • Provide 10 hours of therapy per week (to start) to couples and individuals facing challenges in their relationships.

  • Apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches, focusing on communication, rebuilding trust, and fostering emotional connection.

  • Maintain accurate and professional notes in a secure client management system (I use Practice Better).

  • Follow ethical guidelines and standards of your regulatory body.

  • Collaborate with me and participate in optional monthly check-ins or peer consultations.

  • Be willing to be listed on my website as part of my marketing efforts to connect you with clients.
