As the year comes to a close, it’s natural to look back on where we’ve been and how far we’ve come. Reflection is a powerful tool for growth—it helps us celebrate our wins, acknowledge our challenges, and set intentions for the future. Whether this year has been one of triumph, struggle, or somewhere in between, taking time to reflect can provide clarity and a sense of closure as you step into the new year.

Below are 10 questions to guide your reflection. You can use them in a journaling session, as a conversation with a partner or friend, or during a quiet moment to yourself.

    Relive the joy of a standout moment—whether it was an adventure, a quiet victory, or a connection with someone special.

  5. What habits or routines served you well this year?
    Identify the practices that helped you stay grounded, healthy, or focused, and think about how you can carry them forward.

  6. Is there something you wish you had done differently this year?
    Without judgment, reflect on what you might want to approach differently in the future.

  7. What brought you joy this year?
    Look back on the moments, activities, or relationships that made your heart full and consider how you can create more of those experiences.

  8. What did you learn about yourself this year?
